On June 9 Team DMI packed up all 30 units and made its way to California for the $10 Million Qualcomm Tricorder delivery deadline. The competition organized by the XPRIZE foundation was launched 3 years ago in an effort to encourage companies from around the globe to develop a comprehensive medical device. The inspiration for this competition came from what has repeatedly ignited the imaginative spark for technological paramount, the TV show Star Trek.
DMI is one of a handful of teams left in the final stage of the contest. After the team delivered all 30 units on mid-June. They had to hold back their exhilaration for a couple more days before the XPRIZE foundation announced that DMI has made it into the last stage of the competition. Over a period of 6 months, consumers will test all Tricorders before the winner of the last still-standing teams will be announced in January 2016.
